“the Breaks” Leads 12 Algos, 3 Short: Holly AM Huddle

Written by Katie Gomez

This morning we’re putting on the Breaks.  Here is your Holly Morning Huddle Report. Today the number of Long strategies outnumber the Shorts, but first let’s assess my overall performance.

As of today, Wednesday, December 4, 2017, the return from my trading performance since January 1 stands at +102.9 accumulated profit points vs the benchmark SPY’s performance of +19.1 points over the same period. On Tuesday, my performance was flat with no change in Risk-Off mode (shown above). Risk-Off mode is where trades are not extended and exits are bounded by predetermined time in trade limits absent other reasons to exit (e.g., price target or stop loss reached, etc.) On Tuesday, the SPY was flat with no change. My Risk-On mode, which extends the holding period for trades until the day’s close, was flat with no change.

Today’s a new day and I am prepared for the market open with 12 themes/strategies I determined overnight will best match what the market throws at us. I may or may not use all these intraday strategies depending on whether or not all the criteria for each are satisfied.

Of these 12 strategies selected today 9 are Long, bullish in outlook. 3 are Short, bearish in outlook. Ready for anything. The Putting on the Breaks strategy, in the list below, has the highest Win % heading into the Open based on optimized, backtested scenarios.

Here are the algos:

No. Win% Strategy L/S
1 76 Accelerator Long
2 63.6 Bon Shorty Short
3 61.2 Downward Momentum Short
4 63 Float On Long
5 62 Got Dough Wants To Go Long
6 61.8 Horseshoe Up Long
7 59.8 Mighty Mouse Long
8 60.3 Nickelback Long
9 65.6 Power Hour Long Long
10 79.4 Putting on the Breaks Short
11 62.5 Quarterback Long
12 55.4 Wake Up Call Long

Have a great morning. See you in the markets!
